How to Print Your 3D Files With CHITUBOX

Are you new to 3D printing and unsure of where to begin? This beginner-friendly guide will walk you through the entire process of printing your 3D files, step by step, using CHITUBOX, a popular tool for resin-based 3D printers.

We’ll cover everything from setting up your printer and resin, adjusting print parameters, adding support structures, slicing your model, and saving the file for printing. With these simple instructions, you’ll be ready to create your own 3D prints in no time!

Step 1: Adding a New Printer

  • Open CHITUBOX on your computer.
  • Navigate to the printer settings.
  • Click on Settings > Add New Printer > Select your printer model > OK.

Step 2: Selecting the Resin Type

  • Choose the resin for your print by selecting it in the software.
  • This will help the software apply the appropriate settings for your chosen material.

Step 3: Setting Print Parameters

  • After selecting the resin, input your print parameters, such as:
    • Layer height
    • Exposure time
    • Lifting speed
  • If you’re unsure, you can leave the default settings, or you can refer to Phrozen’s Resin Profile for specific recommendations.

Step 4: Importing Your 3D Model

  • Import your 3D model file in STL format.
  • Click on Open File > Select your STL file > Open.

Step 5: Adding Support Structures

  • Add support structures to ensure a successful print.
  • Click on Support > +All to automatically generate support for your model.

Step 6: Slicing the Model

  • Once you’ve set everything up, slice the model by clicking the Slice button.
  • This process will prepare your file for the printer.

Step 7: Saving the Sliced File

  • After slicing, save the file in CTB or ZIP format on your computer.
  • Transfer the saved file to a USB drive for printing.

Step 8: Printing Your Model

    1. Insert the USB drive into your 3D printer.
    2. Start the printing process to bring your 3D model to life!

By following these steps, you’ll be able to easily prepare and print your 3D files using CHITUBOX. Happy printing!
